Transitional Ventilation

Transitional ventilation is the name given to the stage where minimum ventilation is no longer sufficient, yet there is still no need for tunnel ventilation. This condition may exist when the birds reach an intermediate age, or even at a more advanced age when it is especially cold outside.
The assumption is that at this stage there is no need for any other heating source apart from the heat generated by the birds themselves, but that air circulation is necessary.
To this end, the vents may be left open all the time, and up to 4-6 tunnel fans installed in the house gable should be activated. These fans actually constitute part of the tunnel ventilation stage.
In this way, the fresh air that enters the house through the vents is mixed with the hot air concentrated at the high point of the house and freshens the entire length of the poultry house until it is ultimately expelled by the fans at the end wall.
If excess heat develops around the bird living area, the poultry house should be shifted to full ventilation.
